Finding a tool watch in all original and extremly well preserved condition like this Gruen Ocean Chief is a rare occurrence. Rarely because, this type of watches was used to extinction often. Obviously this watch, described below, was handeld very well during its lifetime. Although she is more than sixty years old, this timepiece remains in an excellent condition. Case and bezel show almost no signs of wear, only the case back shows some imperfections. The gilt dial is flawless, compared to its age and still retains the original lume at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock as well as the hour and the minute hand. Not many of these low production watches have survived, especially in this condition. Therefore this Gruen Ocean Chief, here offered for sale, is a really rare bird.
